WSU Sculpture 3D Full Body Scanner

Hello!

Due to state-wide budget cuts in Kansas, the WSU Sculpture Guild needs to raise money for the Wichita State University Sculpture Department to be able to build a full body 3D scanner.

The Head of the Sculpture Department, Barry Badgett, and students attended the International Sculpture Center's 2015 Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.  Those who attended the body scanning workshop received building schematics explaining how to build a full body 3D scanner.  We will apply that knowledge to continue increasing student access to newer technology, so that we can utilize it in our artwork.  Using this technology within art allows us to connect new technology and processes with old technology and processes.  We plan to share this technology with other departments, such as engineering, so that others benefit from it as well. This technology will advance the types of opportunities available to students at Wichita State University.
